Ethan Zuckerman on Eszter Hargittai
Ethan Zuckerman of the Berkman Center at Harbard University has just posted to his personal blog, …My heart’s in Accra on Eszter Hargittai on blogger insularity.
His comments summarize the current results of Eszter's research which she first presented at MeshForum 2005 in Chicago.
Barbara van Schewick on Network Neutrality
Larry Lessig posted a new paper by Barbara van Schewick on Network Neutrality.
This is a fascinating paper on the economic issues around network neutrality, the full paper (Sept 20th 2005 version) is available as a PDF from lessig.org. (unfortunately it is copy protected, were it not I would offer more detailed discussion of the points she raises).
This is the type of conversation which we hope to continue at MeshForum 2006.

His research spans diverse topics ranging from computer networking analysis and routing, to data mining, to comparative genomics and protein structure. He is best known for his contributions to two aspects of network theory: "small worlds" and searching the World Wide Web.

Updates at MeshForum - comments working again
We've upgraded to a new version of the blog engine, which should make maintenance easier for us behind the scenes. The external face to MeshForum shouldn't be any different. Unfortunately, as part of the upgrade I managed to break something with the comments feature. For about a week, no one could post comments.
I was able to track down the problem and correct it. You should be able to post comments as needed now. All comments will be moderated to protect against junk.
